person who is certified by the Institute of Financial Planners to
give financial advice. To become a CFP you must take extensive exams
in the following areas: financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate
planning, and retirement. Continuing education credits are required
each year to maintain the certification status.

is a good idea to ask what his/her educational background is before
letting a CFP manage your money, don't be afraid to say "no thanks"
if you feel they don't have sufficient experience. |
